{"id":239008,"date":"2026-01-09T07:58:24","date_gmt":"2026-01-09T07:58:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/abiaradiostations.com.ng\/news\/adeleke-has-no-rival-in-osun-accord-party-declares\/"},"modified":"2026-01-09T07:58:24","modified_gmt":"2026-01-09T07:58:24","slug":"adeleke-has-no-rival-in-osun-accord-party-declares","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/abiaradiostations.com.ng\/news\/adeleke-has-no-rival-in-osun-accord-party-declares\/","title":{"rendered":"Adeleke Has No Rival In Osun \u2013 Accord Party Declares"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div id=\"mvp-content-main\">\n<p>The Osun State chapter of the Accord Party has reaffirmed that Governor <strong>Ademola Adeleke<\/strong> remains the party\u2019s undisputed candidate for the August 8 governorship election.<\/p>\n<p>The Chairman of Accord Party in Osun State, <strong>Victor Akande,<\/strong> speaking with newsmen in Osogbo on Thursday, dismissed the purported candidature of Clement Bamigbola as a \u201cwaste of time and resources,\u201d insisting that Adeleke\u2019s position as the party flagbearer is secure.<\/p>\n<p>The party chairman described claims of an internal faction as baseless.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cThe kangaroo primary purportedly held by a non-existent faction is just a ruse. Such a faction does not exist within our party structure by law,\u201d<\/em> Akande said.<\/p>\n<p>He added that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has previously dealt with similar cases in other states, including Anambra and Ekiti, and assured that the situation in Osun would be no different.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cThose who were spreading the existence of a factional candidate are just political jobbers seeking attention for pecuniary gain. But I am assuring you that Governor Adeleke has no rival as far as our party ticket is concerned,\u201d<\/em> he emphasised.<\/p>\n<p>Addressing concerns over the All Progressives Congress (APC) and its governorship candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, Akande exuded confidence that the ruling party poses no threat to Adeleke\u2019s re-election bid.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cWe know the antecedents of the APC; we know how they governed when they were in power. The party reduced workers to beggars through the payment of half salary.
