{"id":239445,"date":"2026-01-15T21:41:48","date_gmt":"2026-01-15T21:41:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/abiaradiostations.com.ng\/news\/edo-governor-sacks-high-ranking-state-govt-official-appoints-caretaker-boss\/"},"modified":"2026-01-15T21:41:48","modified_gmt":"2026-01-15T21:41:48","slug":"edo-governor-sacks-high-ranking-state-govt-official-appoints-caretaker-boss","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/abiaradiostations.com.ng\/news\/edo-governor-sacks-high-ranking-state-govt-official-appoints-caretaker-boss\/","title":{"rendered":"Edo governor sacks high ranking state govt official, appoints caretaker boss"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div>\n<p data-start=\"67\" data-end=\"189\">The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of <span class=\"hover:entity-accent entity-underline inline cursor-pointer align-baseline\"><span class=\"whitespace-normal\">New Edo Line Transport Services Ltd<\/span><\/span>, Tinyan Otuomagie, has been sacked.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"191\" data-end=\"302\">Edo State Commissioner for Transport, Saturday Idehen, disclosed the development in a statement on Thursday.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"304\" data-end=\"499\">Idehen said Smart Aigbodion, General Manager for Maintenance at the company, has been appointed Acting Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer pending the appointment of a substantive head.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"501\" data-end=\"675\">He said Governor <span class=\"hover:entity-accent entity-underline inline cursor-pointer align-baseline\"><span class=\"whitespace-normal\">Monday Okpebholo<\/span><\/span> directed that Otuomagie be redeployed to the ministry of information for other assignments as may be determined.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"501\" data-end=\"675\">In July 2025, Okpebholo commissioned the New Edo Line which was officially flagged of by the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"501\" data-end=\"675\">Okpebholo said at the occassion: \u201cThe New Edo Line is more than just a fleet of luxury buses, it is a clear signal that Edo is moving forward.
