Osbourne Umahi, son of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu\u2019s Minister of Works, Senator David Umahi, on Friday picked the All Progressives Congress (APC)<\/strong> chairmanship nomination and expression of interest forms for Ohaozara Local Government Area of Ebonyi State.<\/p>\n Osbourne, the minister\u2019s first son, arrived at the APC state secretariat in Abakaliki amid a large crowd of supporters who escorted him to the venue.<\/p>\n He was received by members of the party\u2019s State Executive Committee, led by the APC Chairman in Ebonyi State, Stanley Okoro-Emegha.<\/p>\n Speaking at the event, Okoro-Emegha described Osbourne Umahi as an intelligent, capable and forward-thinking young politician and businessman, expressing confidence in his ability to lead Ohaozara Local Government Area to greater heights.<\/p>\n He said the party was pleased with the growing participation of young people in governance and leadership at the grassroots level.<\/p>\n Addressing journalists after picking the forms, Osbourne Umahi thanked the people of Ohaozara for nominating him to contest for the chairmanship position.<\/p>\n \u201cI am grateful to the people of Ohaozara for the trust and confidence they have shown in me. I promise not to disappoint them<\/em>,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n The chairmanship aspirant said his administration, if elected, would prioritise youth empowerment, noting that young people remain the backbone of sustainable development.<\/p>\n He also pledged to sustain and build on the infrastructure development legacy of his father across the local government area.<\/p>\n The APC local government primaries are scheduled to hold on January 25.
