The governor of Kogi State, Usman Ododo has secured a fresh endorsement to contest for a second term in the 2027 general election.<\/span><\/p>\n The endorsement for the governor\u2019s second-term bid followed the resolve from constituents from the Kogi East Senatorial district to ensure a return of political power to the district in 2031.<\/span><\/p>\n In a communique issued at the end of the Kogi East Political Summit held in Anyigha on Sunday, the constituents said they aim to achieve such a power shift through strategic political alliances.<\/span><\/p>\n Signed by its Chairman of the Planning Committee, Musa Isiaka, and Secretary of the Planning Committee, Professor David Menenge, respectively, the members of the constituent said there is a need to foster unity and equity that would protect the district\u2019s chances of producing Kogi State\u2019s next governor at the end of Ododo\u2019s tenure.<\/span><\/p>\n According to them, the district is determined to embark on a statewide political agenda devoid of ethnic rivalry and unhealthy competition.<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cKogi East must pursue a statewide political agenda rather than an ethnic-based approach.
