Rufai Oseni, the Arise News TV anchor, has cautioned President Bola Tinubu <\/a>against allowing the planned impeachment of Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara to proceed.<\/p>\n Oseni said the impeachment move would amount to an indictment of Tinubu\u2019s ability to protect governors elected on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).<\/p>\n In a post on his X handle, he stated that \u201cif Fubara is impeached, then it\u2019s a big indictment on President Tinubu\u2019s ability to protect APC governors.\u201d<\/p>\n He also dismissed claims by some government officials that the declaration of a state of emergency in Rivers State was meant to safeguard the governor, arguing that the impeachment process had rendered such claims invalid.<\/p>\n \u201cAlso, for those government officials who say the state of emergency was to save Fubara, that argument has been nullified by this impeachment notice,\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n According to Oseni, the situation in the state remains unresolved despite the emergency measures implemented by the president.<\/p>\n Despite the state of emergency, no peace or settlement.
