This day is extraordinary in the history of our engagements at this beautiful meeting point of global political leadership, policy thinkers, and corporate enterprise.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">\u2018\u2019For the first time in our nation\u2019s history, Nigeria stands at Davos with a sovereign pavilion of its own.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">\u00a0\u2018\u2019Nigeria House reflects our intention, our seriousness, and above all our resolve to take a front-line seat in the discourse of the global economy, not as observers, but as participants with a clear sense of purpose,\u201d Shettima said.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">He added that the Pavilion showcases the country, not just as observers but as a purposeful participant in global economic affairs. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The vice president also noted that while it is clear that the Nigeria House is an initiative of the government,\u00a0its success would be totally driven by the private sector.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">\u00a0According to him, the government would leave doors open for the purpose of ensuring a conducive environment.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">\u201cOur decision to open up to the world more deliberately comes at a turning point in our economic journey.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">\u201cThe dividends of the difficult but inevitable reforms of recent years are beginning to show,\u201d he added.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Vice President Kashim Shettima has said that Nigeria is ready to take the front seat in leading economic conversations and initiatives in the global space.
