The Federal High Court sitting in Abuja has affirmed the removal of Julius Abure<\/strong> as the National Chairman of the Labour Party.<\/p>\n Abia Radio News<\/strong> reports that the court also ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to recognise the Nenadi Usman-led National Caretaker Committee as the lawful leadership of the party.<\/p>\n The development was disclosed by human rights lawyer, Inibehe Effiong, who said he was present at the Federal High Court when the judgment was delivered on Wednesday.<\/p>\n According to Effiong, Justice Lifu, who delivered the ruling, upheld the Nenadi Usman-led committee as the only valid and lawful leadership of the Labour Party.<\/p>\n Effiong said the judge reaffirmed that Abure\u2019s tenure had elapsed in line with an earlier judgment of the Supreme Court.<\/p>\n \u201cThe judge reaffirmed that by the Supreme Court\u2019s judgment, Julius Abure\u2019s tenure had since elapsed,\u201d<\/em> Effiong stated.<\/p>\n The court consequently directed INEC to immediately recognise Senator Nenadi Usman as the leader of the Labour Party.<\/p>\n Effiong, in a post on \ud835\udd4f (formerly known as Twitter), wrote: \u201cHonourable Justice Lifu has just upheld Senator Nenadi Esther Usman-led National Caretaker Committee as the only valid and lawful leadership of the Labour Party.<\/em><\/p>\n \u201cThe judge ordered INEC to recognise Nenadi Usman forthwith.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n \n <\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" The Federal High Court sitting in Abuja has affirmed the removal of Julius Abure as the National Chairman of the Labour Party.
