Former Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, has alleged details of what transpired during Governor Seyi Makinde\u2019s visit to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu <\/a>at the Presidential Villa on Wednesday.<\/p>\n In a statement on Thursday evening, Fayose claimed\u00a0that the Oyo State governor was bluntly told to take his political grievances to the public space.<\/p>\n According to Fayose, Makinde arrived at the Villa accompanied by the Plateau State Governor, Caleb Mutfwang, whom he said was enlisted for support.<\/p>\n Fayose claimed the President made it clear that he was willing to engage Makinde strictly on official matters concerning Oyo State.<\/p>\n \u201cThe President told him clearly that if it was about official matters regarding Oyo State, he would listen<\/em>,\u201d Fayose stated.<\/p>\n However, Fayose alleged that Tinubu <\/a>drew a firm line when it came to political discussions, especially Makinde\u2019s public claims that the President was plotting to turn Nigeria into a one-party state.<\/p>\n According to him, the President advised Makinde to return to the media if he wished to air political grievances.<\/p>\n \u201cHe was told pointedly that he could not come to the closet on political matters to eat his words, while saying something else to the public<\/em>,\u201d Fayose said.<\/p>\n Fayose further alleged that President Tinubu <\/a>told Makinde he was not expecting any political support from him ahead of the 2027 general elections.<\/p>\n He claimed the President equally made it clear that he would continue to support his own party and political allies.<\/p>\n \u201cThe President told him he was not expecting any support from him regarding 2027,<\/em>\u201d Fayose alleged.<\/p>\n The former Ekiti governor also claimed that Tinubu <\/a>reaffirmed his relationship with the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, stressing that the President would not distance himself from Wike.<\/p>\n
