The 16th Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II, has explained his decision to return to school to study law.<\/p>\n
Speaking with journalists on Friday after his lectures, Emir Sanusi said law is a discipline many people pursue later in life because of its relevance to everyday activities.<\/p>\n
\u201cThere\u2019s nothing you will do without the law. The law tells you how to drive on the road. The law deals with how you handle your family and your marriage.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe law deals with your contracts. The law deals with land issues, property issues, and succession issues.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s basically a field that we should, as much as possible, be familiar with. The day you don\u2019t have law and order, the strong do what they can, and the weak suffer what they must.<\/p>\n
\u201cSo law is the safeguard and the guardian for us, for a decent and stable society.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe classroom is my default. I was telling the students that the first time I was at level 200 was in 1978. The second time was 1992.<\/p>\n
\u201cSo, this is actually my third bachelor\u2019s degree I\u2019m going for. Law is a course I have always wanted to study,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
