Former Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, has alleged that Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State turned into what he described as an \u201cemergency opposition mouthpiece\u201d after President Bola Ahmed Tinubu<\/strong> rejected attempts at reconciliation during Makinde\u2019s recent visit to the Presidential Villa.<\/p>\n Fayose made the allegation in a statement issued on Sunday, reacting to Makinde\u2019s recent remarks against Tinubu <\/a>at a birthday event where former Vice President Yemi Osinbajo also attended.<\/p>\n Story continues below advertisement\n<\/p>\n <\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n Abia Radio News<\/strong> reports that Makinde had told Osinbajo he personally missed him and his leadership during the previous administration, the Oyo state governor also condemned the newly implemented tax laws.<\/p>\n According to Fayose, Makinde\u2019s comments against the President further confirmed that he was given what he termed a \u201ccold shoulder\u201d during his last meeting with Tinubu.<\/p>\n \u201cAs I earlier made public, in his attempt to do damage control on his public speech against the President, Makinde met the shock of his political life when he visited Asiwaju last week,<\/em>\u201d Fayose claimed.<\/p>\n Story continues below advertisement<\/p>\n <\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n He alleged that Makinde realised during the meeting that reconciliation between him and the President was no longer possible.<\/p>\n Fayose further alleged that Tinubu <\/a>made it clear to Makinde that, as far as Oyo State was concerned, the President would support candidates of his own party in the 2027 elections.<\/p>\n \u201cIt is now obvious that after getting that cold shoulder from the President, Makinde must have realised that the end of the road has come in terms of reconciliation<\/em>,\u201d Fayose said.<\/p>\n Story continues below advertisement\n<\/p>\n <\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n The former Ekiti governor said Makinde\u2019s criticism of Tinubu <\/a>and praise of the Buhari administration vindicated his earlier position.<\/p>\n
