Power in the state ultimately rests with the electorate, whose loyalty has always been conditional on performance, character, trust and credibility.\u201d<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1003\" data-end=\"1134\">Waiya expressed surprise that the remarks were attributed to Galadima, noting that he benefitted from Yusuf\u2019s inclusive leadership.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1136\" data-end=\"1270\">He said Galadima was appointed chairman of the governing council of Kano state polytechnic despite not being an indigene of the state.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1272\" data-end=\"1401\">According to the commissioner, the appointment was made in good faith and based on expectations of experience and value addition.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1403\" data-end=\"1501\">Waiya said no notable reforms or developmental initiatives were recorded during Galadima\u2019s tenure.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1503\" data-end=\"1592\">He said leadership should be assessed by tangible outcomes rather than public commentary, adding that Kano voters have historically resisted permanent political ownership and godfatherism.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1693\" data-end=\"1785\">He recalled the emergence of Ibrahim Shekarau as governor in 2003 without godfather backing.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1787\" data-end=\"1882\">Waiya said Shekarau\u2019s rise and re-election were driven by moral credibility and popular appeal.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1884\" data-end=\"2006\">He also referenced Kwankwaso\u2019s political comeback in 2011, attributing it to performance rather than political anointment.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2008\" data-end=\"2107\">\u201cPerformance, not proximity to power, remains the enduring principle of Kano politics.
