{"id":240393,"date":"2026-01-27T05:46:02","date_gmt":"2026-01-27T05:46:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/abiaradiostations.com.ng\/news\/abia-traditional-rulers-unhappy-with-low-registration-figure-begin-mobilisation\/"},"modified":"2026-01-27T05:46:02","modified_gmt":"2026-01-27T05:46:02","slug":"abia-traditional-rulers-unhappy-with-low-registration-figure-begin-mobilisation","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/abiaradiostations.com.ng\/news\/abia-traditional-rulers-unhappy-with-low-registration-figure-begin-mobilisation\/","title":{"rendered":"Abia traditional rulers unhappy with low registration figure, begin mobilisation"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div id=\"mvp-content-main\">\n<p>The Chairman, <a href=\"https:\/\/abiaradiostations.name.ng\/news\/abia\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Abia <\/a>State Council of Traditional Rulers, Eze Linus Nto Mbah, has announced a statewide mobilisation initiative by traditional rulers to significantly increase the number of residents registered for the National Identification Number, NIN, and Permanent Voter\u2019s Cards, PVCs.<\/p>\n<p>He made this known on Monday while presiding over a meeting of the Council in Umuahia, attended by principal officers and chairmen of traditional rulers from the 17 LGAs.<\/p>\n<p>The traditional rulers expressed concern about <a href=\"https:\/\/abiaradiostations.name.ng\/news\/abia\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Abia <\/a>State\u2019s relatively low registration figures despite its large population, warning that <a href=\"https:\/\/abiaradiostations.name.ng\/news\/abia\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Abia <\/a>must now lag behind in such critical national exercise.<\/p>\n<p>He emphasized that traditional rulers resolved to take responsibility for mobilising eligible citizens, particularly those aged 18 years and above who are yet to register for NIN and voters\u2019 cards.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur resolve is to ensure that <a href=\"https:\/\/abiaradiostations.name.ng\/news\/abia\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Abia <\/a>State records one of the highest numbers of registered citizens.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis exercise is not for any individual or political interest, but purely in the interest of the state and its development,\u201d the monarchs said.<\/p>\n<p>They explained that the Council will adopt a grassroots approach by extending the mobilisation drive from the state level to zones, local governments, and autonomous communities to ensure that no eligible citizen is left out.<\/p>\n<p>The Council also plans to assess the availability and adequacy of registration facilities, including equipment, personnel, and logistics, by visiting relevant offices where registrations are carried out.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p><script async defer crossorigin=\"anonymous\" src=\"https:\/\/connect.facebook.net\/en_US\/sdk.js#xfbml=1&amp;version=v9.0&amp;appId=420332301344305\" nonce=\"sm97MhBO\" type=\"pmdelayedscript\" data-cfasync=\"false\" data-no-optimize=\"1\" data-no-defer=\"1\" data-no-minify=\"1\"><\/script><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Chairman, Abia State Council of Traditional Rulers, Eze Linus Nto Mbah, has announced a statewide mobilisation initiative by traditional rulers to significantly increase the number of residents registered for the National Identification Number, NIN, and Permanent Voter\u2019s Cards, PVCs.
