Former Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi<\/strong>, has warned his supporters, popularly known as Obidients, against insulting any member or leader of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) coalition.<\/p>\n Obi submitted that those insulting ADC members are not his true supporters, but criminals only pretending to be Obidients.<\/p>\n Story continues below advertisement\n<\/p>\n <\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n The former Anambra State Governor categorically dissociated himself from those abusing other ADC<\/strong> leaders, stating that he doesn\u2019t subscribe to or support such behaviour.<\/p>\n \u201cLet me tell you here, most of the things you hear\u2026 criminals that are not Obidient people. You don\u2019t see anybody calling the other a bad name. We are not asking for division, I personally do not in any way\u2026 you have never seen me call anybody a bad name.<\/em><\/p>\n \u201cWe are in the ADC and respect everybody there. But as for calling people bad names, we are not in support of it. I don\u2019t subscribe to it and I am not part of it<\/em>,\u201d Obi said while speaking during an engagement at the movement\u2019s secretariat on Tuesday.<\/p>\n Story continues below advertisement<\/p>\n <\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n Obi added that the ADC leaders are respected brothers and colleagues, hence his own supporters should not say anything bad about them.<\/p>\n \u201cThe people I met there, down to the party chairman, are my elder brothers. People like Atiku are my leader and a very respected elder brother. Amaechi is my brother, and we are very close.<\/em><\/p>\n \u201cSo also is el-Rufai. Name them, all the people who are there \u2014 Liyel Imoke, Oyegun, Aregbesola. These are my colleagues. So how do I say anything bad about them?\u201d <\/em>he added.<\/p>\n Story continues below advertisement\n<\/p>\n <\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n Rather than attack individuals, Peter Obi urged his supporters to join hands and focus on how to save Nigeria from the myriad of challenges facing the country and its citizens.<\/p>\n \u201cThose who are following me, I assure you, will not say anything bad about them. But some elements are trying to do that to hurt the Peter Obi brand.<\/em><\/p>\n \u201cThat is not what we should be doing in politics. Let us talk about out-of-school children, hungry and unemployed Nigerians, insecurity, and how random abduction of people \u2014 where about 150 worshippers are being kidnapped in churches and mosques \u2014 is occurring.
