Ibrahim Waiya, the Kano State Commissioner for Information and Internal Affairs has debunked claims that Governor Abba Yusuf has lost control of the affairs of the state.<\/span><\/p>\n Waiya in a statement issued on Thursday said reports in some quarters that the governor\u2019s defection from the New Nigeria People\u2019s Party (NNPP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC) is causing a strain on his administration are misleading.<\/span><\/p>\n He also stated that there are moves by some individuals and groups to distort the realities surrounding recent political defections in Kano.<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cThe story is not only mischievous and deliberate but also ill-conceived, clearly designed to mislead the public into thinking Governor Yusuf has lost grip of his government.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cThe facts are clear and settled. The commissioners in charge of the most powerful and strategic ministries of government remain firmly with His Excellency, the Governor.<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cThese ministries oversee policy, finance, infrastructure, local government administration, service delivery, and information management. Therefore, anyone suggesting otherwise is either uninformed or intentionally misleading the public,\u201d Waiya said.<\/span><\/p>\n He further noted that governance is not a guessing game, nor is it determined by propaganda and that there are the true levers of government. <\/span><\/p>\n \u201cLet critics be reminded that power is not lost when such key institutions remain intact; control is not lost when the engine rooms of government are stable; and governance is not disrupted by political movements. Government is running effectively.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cThose celebrating prematurely should understand that they are mistaking headlines for authority.
