The Kwankwasiyya Movement has strongly condemned the reported call for the resignation of Kano State Deputy Governor, Aminu Abdulsalam Gwarzo<\/strong>, describing it as \u201cunwarranted and unfortunate.\u201d<\/p>\n

Abia Radio News<\/strong> reports that the criticism follows comments allegedly made by the State Commissioner for Information and Internal Affairs, Ibrahim Abdullahi Waiya, suggesting that Gwarzo should step down from office.<\/p>\n

In a statement issued on Thursday and signed by Hon. Habibu Saleh Mailemo, spokesperson for the Kwankwasiyya Media Team, the group insisted that the deputy governor\u2019s mandate was derived from the electorate, not subject to any individual\u2019s discretion.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Deputy Governor was elected on a joint ticket and has a constitutional mandate from the people of Kano State. His position is not subject to the discretion of any individual,\u201d<\/em> the statement said.<\/p>\n

The movement warned that such calls could deepen internal political divisions and derail the administration\u2019s focus on service delivery.<\/p>\n

Kwankwasiyya noted that the current administration emerged from a broad-based political alliance, and stressed the importance of maintaining internal cohesion, mutual respect and commitment to democratic norms.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe believe that the strength of any democratic government lies in internal cohesion, mutual respect and adherence to constitutional principles.<\/em><\/p>\n

\u201cAll parties should remain committed to peace, dialogue and democratic values. The interest of Kano people should remain paramount,\u201d<\/em> the group stated.<\/p>\n

While reaffirming its support for Deputy Governor Gwarzo, the group called on government officials to focus on governance rather than personal or political disagreements.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe remain committed to constructive engagement and the collective goal of ensuring effective governance and development in Kano State,\u201d<\/em> it added.<\/p>\n
