A report has indicated that there are ongoing discussions by Kano State lawmakers loyal to Governor Abba Yusuf to begin impeachment proceedings against the State deputy governor, Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo.<\/p>\n
According to Daily Trust, the lawmakers want Gwarzo to resign if he decides not to defect with the governor.<\/p>\n

Following Yusuf\u2019s defection to the APC, there have been calls for Gwarzo to resign his position after his refusal to defect with the governor.<\/p>\n
However, a senior official in the deputy governor\u2019s office, who spoke to the aforementioned publication on condition of anonymity, said his principal was not prepared to resign unless directed to do so by Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso.<\/p>\n
\u201cHonestly, he is not going to resign.
