Former aviation minister, Femi Fani-Kayode<\/span><\/span>, has stated that critics who celebrated President Bola Tinubu<\/span><\/span>\u2019s fall during an official visit to Turkey are \u201cenemies of Nigeria\u201d.<\/p>\n

Fani-Kayode said a democratically elected president, \u201cwhether you like or support him or not, is the living manifestation of our nation and the essence and symbol of our national sovereignty and pride\u201d.<\/p>\n

He said those mocking the incident failed to understand that \u201cwhen our President falls it essentially means that our nation falls\u201d.<\/p>\n

The former minister cited biblical passages, including Micah 7:8 and Proverbs 24:16, saying Tinubu\u2019s recovery showed that \u201cthe Lord is with him and that the enemy within has failed once again\u201d.<\/p>\n

He said despite the incident, Tinubu <\/a>went on to \u201cnegotiate and sign numerous bilateral agreements which will bring security, succour and prosperity to our nation\u201d with President Recep Tayyip Erdo\u011fan<\/span><\/span>.<\/p>\n

Fani-Kayode alleged that some opposition figures were exploiting insecurity and abductions in parts of the country to undermine the government and destabilise Nigeria.<\/p>\n

He said such actors \u201csecretly crave it yet openly condemn it because it suits their purpose and it confirms the narrative that they want to establish\u201d.<\/p>\n

The former minister rejected claims that only Christians were being targeted, saying Muslims were also being abducted in large numbers across northern Nigeria.<\/p>\n

He said framing insecurity solely in religious terms was \u201cirresponsible and disingenuous\u201d and failed to reflect the complexity of the crisis.<\/p>\n

Fani-Kayode said efforts by the military, security agencies and political leaders had led to successes in prevention and rescue operations, even though challenges remained.<\/p>\n

He said terrorists were at war with the Nigerian state and people, \u201cboth Christian and Muslim\u201d, and not with one religion alone.<\/p>\n

The former minister said Nigeria needed unity and credible leadership, not what he described as divisive politics.<\/p>\n
