{"id":240819,"date":"2026-02-01T16:03:31","date_gmt":"2026-02-01T16:03:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/abiaradiostations.com.ng\/news\/kano-women-affairs-commissioner-joins-apc-dumps-kwankwasiyya\/"},"modified":"2026-02-01T16:03:31","modified_gmt":"2026-02-01T16:03:31","slug":"kano-women-affairs-commissioner-joins-apc-dumps-kwankwasiyya","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/abiaradiostations.com.ng\/news\/kano-women-affairs-commissioner-joins-apc-dumps-kwankwasiyya\/","title":{"rendered":"Kano Women Affairs Commissioner Joins APC, Dumps Kwankwasiyya"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div id=\"mvp-content-main\">\n<p>Kano State Commissioner for Women Affairs, Children, and Persons with Special Needs, <strong>Hajiya Amina Sani<\/strong>, popularly known as Amina HOD, has defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC), marking a major shift in the political realignment within the state.<\/p>\n<p>Amina, known as a staunch grassroots mobiliser and key figure in the Kwankwasiyya Movement, officially dumped the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) to join Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf and other top government officials who recently crossed over to the ruling APC.<\/p>\n<p>The announcement was made on Sunday in a statement by the Commissioner for Information and Internal Affairs, Ibrahim Garba Waiya, who hailed the defection as \u201ca defining and historic moment\u201d in Kano\u2019s political landscape.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cThe commissioner has now aligned with the \u2018Kano First\u2019 ideology to ensure the speedy development of our state and promote peaceful coexistence,\u201d<\/em> Waiya stated.<\/p>\n<p>The statement said the defection reflects a larger movement gaining ground across the state, one that places Kano\u2019s collective future above personal or factional politics.<\/p>\n<p>It read, <em>\u201cThis movement is not only real but also practical, as the people of Kano have chosen to take their political destiny into their own hands.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cIt is a vehicle for positive change that will reposition Kano among the comity of states and push it toward its rightful place politically, economically, and socially.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Waiya insisted that the key institutions of the state remain solidly behind Governor Yusuf and committed to the administration\u2019s development agenda.<\/p>\n<p>The Information Commissioner took a swipe at critics, describing recent opposition reactions as \u201cmischievous political drama\u201d aimed at provoking distractions.<\/p>\n<p>He said, <em>\u201cPower is not lost when key institutions remain steadily committed to development transformation.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cControl is not lost when the engine rooms of the government are firmly alive and responsive to governance, not allowing room for any political shenanigans.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cThis administration will continue to serve the people of Kano with diligence and will not entertain distractions.
