The All Progressives Congress (APC), has accused the African Democratic Congress (ADC) of being intimidated by the high turnout for the ruling party\u2019s membership registration.<\/p>\n
The APC, in a statement on Monday by its National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka<\/strong>, made the submission in response to an earlier claim by the ADC that the ruling party is allegedly coercing civil servants in several states to register for the ongoing e-registration exercise.<\/p>\n In a statement on Sunday, the opposition party accused the APC of using economic pressure to compel public servants to join the party<\/strong>, warning that such actions violate constitutional rights and undermine the neutrality of the civil service.<\/p>\n The statement, signed by the ADC\u2019s National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi<\/strong>, described the alleged practice as \u201ceconomic coercion\u201d and \u201cforced membership\u201d.<\/p>\n However, the APC has rubbished the claims of a forced registration of civil servants, adding that such claims are part of the ADC disinformation campaign strategy.<\/p>\n The APC maintained that millions of Nigerians are simply inspired by what the party is doing in government, while the ADC is intimidated by the ongoing electronic-registration exercise and has therefore resorted to lies to discredit the exercise.<\/p>\n The APC statement reads: \u201cTerrified by massive All Progressives Congress (APC) membership registration in the ongoing electronic-registration exercise, the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has spewed a nonsensical allegation that civil servants were being pressured to participate in our Party\u2019s E-Registration exercise.<\/em><\/p>\n \u201cThat claim is entirely false and baseless, and seeks to cast a shadow over the cutting-edge and pathbreaking digitization of our Party\u2019s membership register. It is a part of ADC\u2019s disinformation campaign that included the fabrication and circulation of a fake \u201cAPC membership slip\u201d, purporting that a notorious terrorist had registered as a member of APC.<\/em><\/p>\n \u201cInspired by visible gains and impact of the Renewed Hope Agenda, millions of Nigerians have registered and continue to register, voluntarily and enthusiastically, as members of our Party, compelling our leadership to yield to popular demand to extend the period of registration from January 31 to February 8, 2026.<\/em><\/p>\n \u201cClearly, the ADC is intimidated by the phenomenal success of our Party\u2019s E-Registration exercise, for obvious reasons.
