{"id":240935,"date":"2026-02-03T07:25:46","date_gmt":"2026-02-03T07:25:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/abiaradiostations.com.ng\/news\/were-not-interested-in-reconciliation-abure-lp-faction-tells-otti\/"},"modified":"2026-02-03T07:25:46","modified_gmt":"2026-02-03T07:25:46","slug":"were-not-interested-in-reconciliation-abure-lp-faction-tells-otti","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/abiaradiostations.com.ng\/news\/were-not-interested-in-reconciliation-abure-lp-faction-tells-otti\/","title":{"rendered":"\u201cWe\u2019re not interested in reconciliation\u201d \u2013 Abure LP faction tells Otti"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The Julius Abure-led faction of the Labour Party has rejected the reconciliation move made by the governor of <a href=\"https:\/\/abiaradiostations.name.ng\/news\/abia\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Abia <\/a>State, <a href=\"https:\/\/abiaradiostations.name.ng\/news\/Alex\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Alex <\/a>Otti.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Describing Otti\u2019s call for reconciliation as dishonest and ill-fated, the LP National Working Committee led by Abure said the crisis rocking the party remains unresolved.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Recall that Otti had called on the Abure-led team to sheathe their swords and work together towards strengthening the party alongside the committee led by Nenadi Usman.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The governor had said, \u201cWe have agreed that there is a need to establish a reconciliation committee. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">\u201cThe interim National Working Committee will advise on the appropriate time to set it up. The goal is to reconcile all members who are willing to return,\u201d Otti stated.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">This call by Otti followed the delisting of Abure\u2019s team from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) portal after a court\u2019s order which named Usman as the authentic leader of the Labour Party.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">However, in its reaction, the Abure-led faction accused the <a href=\"https:\/\/abiaradiostations.name.ng\/news\/abia\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Abia <\/a>governor of playing a major role in triggering the crisis within the party.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Speaking on the matter, Obiora Ifoh, the spokesperson for the party said, \u201cWe are not interested in any reconciliation move being proposed by Governor <a href=\"https:\/\/abiaradiostations.name.ng\/news\/Alex\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Alex <\/a>Otti because he is largely responsible for the crisis facing the party today.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">\u201cWhat we witnessed was a decision of a court of first instance.
