The National Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, has praised President Bola Tinubu\u2019s strategic international diplomacy, saying the president\u2019s foreign engagements are already yielding significant economic benefits for Nigeria.<\/p>\n

Yilwatda highlighted that these diplomatic efforts have secured over $50 billion in foreign direct investment (FDI) commitments, stressing that the president\u2019s travels are not merely ceremonial but purposeful missions that position Nigeria as a prime destination for global capital.<\/p>\n

In a statement on Tuesday in Abuja, the APC chairman said, \u201cMr President\u2019s engagements with strategic global partners underscore his unwavering commitment to advancing Nigeria\u2019s economic interests.<\/p>\n

These visits have helped reposition our country on the world stage, yielding tangible benefits that will support long-term prosperity.\u201d<\/p>\n

The statement was issued through Abimbola Tooki, Yilwatda\u2019s Special Adviser on Media and Communications Strategy.<\/p>\n

Since taking office in May 2023, President Tinubu <\/a>has undertaken high-level diplomatic missions across Africa, Europe, the Middle East, Asia, and the Americas, targeting economic powerhouses such as the United States, China, Germany, India, and Saudi Arabia.<\/p>\n

These efforts are set to benefit critical sectors, including energy, manufacturing, agriculture, and technology.<\/p>\n

\u201cThese are not promises on paper. These commitments represent real capital flows, job creation opportunities, and technology transfers that strengthen our economy,\u201d Yilwatda stated.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe also cited the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement with the United Arab Emirates as a landmark deal aimed at boosting bilateral trade and cooperation in energy and infrastructure.<\/p>\n

Addressing domestic critics who have called the president\u2019s international itinerary excessive, Yilwatda said,<\/p>\n

\u201cThose who focus on the cost without recognising the returns are missing the bigger picture. Nigeria\u2019s reform programme under President Tinubu <\/a>is bold, strategic, and necessary. We urge all Nigerians to support these efforts with patience, knowing that the dividends will be felt across the economy.\u201d<\/p>\n
