The Presidency has launched a strong attack on the African Democratic Congress (ADC), describing the party as a gathering of politicians who are uncomfortable with Nigeria\u2019s recent progress.<\/p>\n
Abia Radio News reports that the remark followed the latest global ranking of emerging technology ecosystems, where Lagos emerged as the fastest growing hub in the world. <\/p>\n
The development placed Nigeria ahead of cities such as Istanbul in Turkey and Pune in India.<\/p>\n
Reacting to the ranking, President Bola Tinubu\u2019s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, accused ADC members of being driven by desperation and constant negativity toward the country\u2019s achievements.<\/p>\n
He said the opposition party prefers to highlight bad news about Nigeria rather than acknowledge milestones recorded under the current administration. <\/p>\n
According to him, the global recognition of Lagos as a leading tech hub has exposed the attitude of ADC politicians toward national development.<\/p>\n
Onanuga noted that instead of celebrating the achievement, members of the party would search for statistics that portray Nigeria in a poor light. He described their reaction as proof that they are unhappy with the direction the country is heading.<\/p>\n
In a post shared on his X account, Onanuga wrote:
\u201cADC must not read this. The desperate politicians, always on the lookout for negative statistics, will be unhappy that Tinubu\u2019s Nigeria has recorded a global tech recognition.\u201d<\/p>\n
The Presidency said the tech ranking shows that reforms and investments in innovation are beginning to yield results, especially in Lagos, which remains Nigeria\u2019s commercial and digital nerve centre.<\/p>\n
Government officials insist that the recognition reflects growing confidence in Nigeria\u2019s technology space and the policies aimed at attracting global investors and startups.<\/p>\n
