Popular socialite and nightlife entrepreneur, Pascal Okechukwu, famously known as Cubana Chief Priest, has officially declared his intention to contest for a seat in the Federal House of Representatives in the 2027 general elections.<\/p>\n
The \u201cCelebrity Barman,\u201d who has long been a close ally of the Imo State government, revealed that he will be running under the platform of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC). <\/p>\n
This move, according to him, is a strategic decision aimed at using the machinery of the federal government to advocate for the release of the detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.<\/p>\n
Explaining his choice to stick with the ruling party despite the prevailing political sentiments in the region, the social media influencer emphasized that being in the opposition limits one\u2019s ability to influence high-level executive decisions.<\/p>\n
\u201cI no fit help Maazi Nnamdi Kanu from opposition. I have always been an APC,\u201d he stated. \u201cMy father, Governor Hope, has worked hard on APC for me not to support him as DG Renewed Hope.\u201d<\/p>\n
The businessman further clarified his past political movements, addressing his visible support for the Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate, Peter Obi, during the 2023 cycle. <\/p>\n
He noted that while he championed the \u201cObidient\u201d cause at the time, he did so while serving as a Special Adviser to Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State.<\/p>\n
However, he made it clear that his loyalty has now fully shifted back to the center and the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.<\/p>\n
\u201cLast election, as Special Adviser to Governor Hope, I worked for Peter Obi, but this time I dey with Asiwaju,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n
