The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Tambuwal Local Government Area of Sokoto State has accused former governor Aminu Tambuwal of neglecting his community during his tenure.<\/p>\n
Speaking at an APC stakeholders\u2019 meeting in Tambuwal, the party\u2019s chairman, Isa Achida, praised Governor Ahmed Aliyu for prioritising grassroots development.<\/p>\n
He stated that Aliyu\u2019s administration has shown the relevance of local governments through visible projects, appointments, and empowerment programmes across the area.<\/p>\n
Achida also faulted Tambuwal\u2019s involvement in what he described as a political coalition made up of \u201cthe same old politicians moving from one party to another,\u201d dismissing it as \u201cold wine in a new bottle.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cThey claim to be a new movement, but the people are not new to us. They are the same politicians who failed our state in the past<\/em>,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n He urged youths in Tambuwal Local Government to support continuity rather than align with what he described as a coalition with nothing new to offer, adding that Aliyu had achieved more for the area within a short period than previous administrations.<\/p>\n The APC chairman also commended the organisers of the meeting, describing it as timely, and formally welcomed defectors from the Peoples Democratic Party, including three former councillors, who he said defected as a result of the governor\u2019s developmental strides.<\/p>\n Achida assured the decampees of equal rights within the party and urged them to return to their communities to mobilise support ahead of the 2027 general elections.<\/p>\n \u201cThis is a family meeting of the APC.
