It is not metaphor. It is a direct threat to life, issued by a senior official of the ruling party in Edo State<\/em>,\u201d the statement said.<\/p>\n<p>The party described the development as a \u201c<em>dangerous descent into political barbarism,<\/em>\u201d warning that threats against citizens for exercising their constitutional rights undermine democracy.<\/p>\n<p>The PDP also raised concerns over repeated claims by Tenebe and Governor Okpebholo that the APC would \u201c<em>deliver<\/em>\u201d 3.5 million votes to President <a href=\"https:\/\/abiaradiostations.name.ng\/news\/tinubu\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Tinubu <\/a>in future presidential elections.<\/p>\n<p>According to the opposition party, publicly available data from the <em>Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC)<\/em> indicate that Edo State does not have up to 2.7 million registered voters.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c<em>When electoral promises exceed the total number of registered voters, the implication is clear,<\/em>\u201d the statement said, alleging that such remarks could suggest voter intimidation or electoral manipulation.<\/p>\n<p>The PDP called on President <a href=\"https:\/\/abiaradiostations.name.ng\/news\/tinubu\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Tinubu <\/a>to \u201ccall Jarrett Tenebe to order\u201d and publicly dissociate himself from any threats of violence or anti-democratic conduct in Edo State.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c<em>Silence in the face of such conduct will amount to endorsement<\/em>,\u201d the party said.<\/p>\n<p>It also urged law enforcement agencies to investigate the alleged death threat and take appropriate action, stressing that no citizen should face intimidation for expressing political opinions.<\/p>\n<p><!-- CONTENT END 2 -->\n                                                                                                            <\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Edo State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has condemned alleged threats made by the Acting Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state, Jarrett Tenebe, against a female critic of the state government.
