{"id":241419,"date":"2026-02-10T18:51:07","date_gmt":"2026-02-10T18:51:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/abiaradiostations.com.ng\/news\/wike-is-my-oga-gov-fubara-vows-to-complete-his-road-project-in-rivers-state\/"},"modified":"2026-02-10T18:51:07","modified_gmt":"2026-02-10T18:51:07","slug":"wike-is-my-oga-gov-fubara-vows-to-complete-his-road-project-in-rivers-state","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/abiaradiostations.com.ng\/news\/wike-is-my-oga-gov-fubara-vows-to-complete-his-road-project-in-rivers-state\/","title":{"rendered":"\u2018Wike Is My Oga\u2019 \u2014 Gov Fubara Vows to Complete His Road Project in Rivers State"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has given a firm commitment that the multi-billion naira Port Harcourt Ring Road project will be ready for commissioning by October this year. <\/p>\n<p>The Governor made this known on Tuesday during an extensive inspection of the 50.15-kilometer project, which spans six local government areas including Port Harcourt City, Obio\/Akpor, Ikwerre, Etche, Eleme, and Ogu-Bolo.<\/p>\n<p>During the tour, Governor Fubara emphasized that the massive infrastructure, featuring six flyovers and a river-crossing bridge, remains a priority for his administration despite the political headwinds in the state. <\/p>\n<p>He noted that the construction giant, Julius Berger Nigeria Plc, has been remobilized to the site and has promised to meet the new timeline if the current pace of funding is maintained.<\/p>\n<p>Addressing the origins of the project, Fubara spoke warmly of his predecessor and current FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, acknowledging that the road was the brainchild of the former governor.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis project is very important considering the person who conceived it, my Oga, the Honourable Minister. He had a very big vision. He believed that if I achieved this project in record time, people would be happy with me,\u201d Fubara stated.<\/p>\n<p>The Governor further explained that he remains dedicated to fulfilling the aspirations Wike had for the state\u2019s development. <\/p>\n<p>He added: \u201cNotwithstanding whatever is happening, it is also my wish and my struggle to ensure that that wish comes through. So you can understand the importance of this project to us and to everyone who means well for our dear state.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Port Harcourt Ring Road is designed as a strategic bypass to decongest the state capital and link burgeoning industrial and residential zones. <\/p>\n<p>Initially flagged off with a 36-month completion window, the project is now being fast-tracked to serve as a landmark achievement for the current administration.<\/p>\n<p>It could be recalled that earlier this week, a peace meeting was brokered by President Bola Ahmed <a href=\"https:\/\/abiaradiostations.name.ng\/news\/tinubu\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Tinubu <\/a>at the State House in Abuja between Governor Fubara and the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike. <\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has given a firm commitment that the multi-billion naira Port Harcourt Ring Road project will be ready for commissioning by October this year.
