Nollywood actress Evan Okoro<\/strong> has challenged her colleague, Ekene Umenwa, over an allegation that she is living with the Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV).<\/p>\n Abia Radio News<\/strong> reports that the issue began after Evan\u2019s name was said to have appeared on a list of Nollywood actors allegedly discussed by Ekene during a private conversation with a UK-based Nigerian nurse, Adanma Waller.<\/p>\n According to claims circulating online, the list contained names of actors who were said to be battling different health conditions, including HIV.<\/p>\n In a video posted on her Instagram page on February 22, 2026, Evan reacted with shock after seeing her name linked to the disease.<\/p>\n She questioned whether Ekene truly made such a statement or if the claim was created by others to cause trouble between them.<\/p>\n Evan said she had earlier defended Ekene when the first part of the controversy surfaced and insisted that people should wait to hear Ekene\u2019s explanation.<\/p>\n The actress said she was hurt to see her name attached to such a serious health claim. She warned that if Ekene truly made the statement, there would be consequences, but if the story was fabricated, those responsible for spreading it would also face the result of their actions.<\/p>\n She added that the rumour has deeply affected her family, especially her mother, who she said is currently in tears over the development.<\/p>\n She said: \u201cE get something wey I see for social media right now. My name dey for one list; dem talk say Evans Okoro carry one thing for body wey dey heavy people for mouth to talk.<\/em><\/p>\n \u201cEkene Umenwa, you add me for your list? Is that what you said, or the devil just wants to use una bring me down? I defended you ooo. I said let\u2019s hear the Ekene side of the story, but seeing my name there as somebody wey dem talk say she carries HIV sickness for body.<\/em><\/p>\n \u201cEkene, if na weytin you talk, may God punish you and your whole generation including your father, your mother, your husband.
