{"id":241917,"date":"2026-03-19T18:39:58","date_gmt":"2026-03-19T18:39:58","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/abiaradiostations.com.ng\/news\/nipost-raises-alarm-over-property-encroachment-in-abia\/"},"modified":"2026-03-19T18:39:58","modified_gmt":"2026-03-19T18:39:58","slug":"nipost-raises-alarm-over-property-encroachment-in-abia","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/abiaradiostations.com.ng\/news\/nipost-raises-alarm-over-property-encroachment-in-abia\/","title":{"rendered":"NIPOST raises alarm over property encroachment in Abia"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div id=\"mvp-content-main\">\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/abiaradiostations.name.ng\/news\/abia\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Abia <\/a>State Postal Manager, Nigerian Postal Service (NIPOST), Mrs Winifred Amadi, has lamented the growing cases of encroachment on lands and other property of NIPOST in some parts of <a href=\"https:\/\/abiaradiostations.name.ng\/news\/abia\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Abia <\/a>State.<\/p>\n<p>Mrs Amadi, who led members of her management team on a courtesy call to Governor <a href=\"https:\/\/abiaradiostations.name.ng\/news\/Alex\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Alex <\/a>Otti on Wednesday, reported to the governor that some individuals have allegedly driven away staff of NIPOST from their office in Item, Bende Local Government Area, and taken over the property.<\/p>\n<p>The postal manager, who appealed for the intervention of the <a href=\"https:\/\/abiaradiostations.name.ng\/news\/abia\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Abia <\/a>State Government to stop the growing encroachment, expressed confidence that the illegal activities would be stopped.<\/p>\n<p>Responding to the postal manager\u2019s appeal, Governor <a href=\"https:\/\/abiaradiostations.name.ng\/news\/Alex\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Alex <\/a>Otti described the reported encroachment as an illegality that would not be tolerated in the state.<\/p>\n<p>The governor directed his Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Uzor Nwachukwu, and the Commissioner for Lands, Mr Chaka Chukwumerije, to immediately begin a survey of NIPOST property located in every part of the state.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFirst of all, the Item encroachment, I need it to be solved immediately, together with other local governments,\u201d said Governor Otti.<\/p>\n<p>The governor, who told the postal manager to furnish him with all locations of NIPOST in <a href=\"https:\/\/abiaradiostations.name.ng\/news\/abia\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Abia <\/a>LGAs to enhance government action, further challenged the management of NIPOST to reposition its operations in <a href=\"https:\/\/abiaradiostations.name.ng\/news\/abia\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Abia <\/a>and other parts of the country.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p><script async defer crossorigin=\"anonymous\" src=\"https:\/\/connect.facebook.net\/en_US\/sdk.js#xfbml=1&amp;version=v9.0&amp;appId=420332301344305\" nonce=\"sm97MhBO\" type=\"pmdelayedscript\" data-cfasync=\"false\" data-no-optimize=\"1\" data-no-defer=\"1\" data-no-minify=\"1\"><\/script><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Abia State Postal Manager, Nigerian Postal Service (NIPOST), Mrs Winifred Amadi, has lamented the growing cases of encroachment on lands and other property of NIPOST in some parts of Abia State.
