All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftains in Nasarawa State, Zamani Daniel and Ibrahim Tukur, have criticised state gubernatorial aspirant, Senator Ahmed Wadada<\/strong>, for boasting about President Bola Tinubu<\/strong>\u2018s backing ahead of the 2027 election.<\/p>\n Abia Radio News<\/strong> reports that in a statement issued to journalists on Wednesday, the APC chieftains warned Senator Wadada against intimidating his opponents over Tinubu\u2019s purported backing, stressing that closeness with the President will not secure him victory at the polls.<\/p>\n The party stalwarts maintained that with direct primaries now adopted by stakeholders, aspirants should market themselves to the people rather than use crooked means to get endorsement.<\/p>\n They stated, \u201cWe know Mr. President to be a true democrat and a believer in upholding the wishes of the majority. This is why we are bothered and surprised that Wadada is boasting that Mr. President will hand-pick him ahead of more entrenched and popular aspirants.<\/em><\/p>\n \u201cAs the saying goes, democracy is a game of numbers. Anyone who thinks he is popular enough should market himself to the people. Let Nasarawa citizens and party members choose who is best for them.
