An African Democratic Congress (ADC) chieftain, Peter Obi has explained the reason behind his meeting with the governor of Bauchi State, Bala Mohammed on Thursday.<\/span><\/p>\n The 2023 presidential candidate for the Labour Party said he was in Bauchi for consultations and political collaborations ahead of the 2027 general election.<\/span><\/p>\n According to Obi, he visited Buachi State alongside notable leaders from the Southeast region.<\/span><\/p>\n He also said that his mission for the visit is to ensure a united, secure and progressive Nigeria that would benefit the citizens, especially the masses.<\/span><\/p>\n Obi wrote in a photo post on X, \u201cToday, in continuation of our consultations and collaboration efforts, I was in Bauchi state with some notable Igbo Leaders where we had a very insightful discussion with Governor Bala Mohammed. <\/span><\/p>\n \u201cThe mission is aimed at a United, Secured, productive and progressive Nigeria that cares for all, especially the less privileged,\u201d Obi said.<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n Also speaking about the meeting, Mohammed said he received Obi at the Bauchi State Government House.<\/span><\/p>\n He also stated that their discussions centred on critical national issues, including economic recovery and the welfare of our citizens.<\/span><\/p>\n Commending Obi for the gesture, Mohammed said, \u201cI commended him for the visit, as engagements of this nature foster mutual understanding and help drive practical, people-focused solutions.<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cWe also took time to review the evolving political landscape and emphasised the urgent need to strengthen our democratic institutions. <\/span><\/p>\n \u201cWe jointly urged all stakeholders to rise above partisanship and place the national interest at the forefront of all decisions,\u201d Mohammed said.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" An African Democratic Congress (ADC) chieftain, Peter Obi has explained the reason behind his meeting with the governor of Bauchi State, Bala Mohammed on Thursday.
