{"id":242531,"date":"2026-04-24T22:15:31","date_gmt":"2026-04-24T22:15:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/abiaradiostations.com.ng\/news\/wike-moves-to-resolve-fct-teachers-strike-engages-nut-leaders\/"},"modified":"2026-04-24T22:15:31","modified_gmt":"2026-04-24T22:15:31","slug":"wike-moves-to-resolve-fct-teachers-strike-engages-nut-leaders","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/abiaradiostations.com.ng\/news\/wike-moves-to-resolve-fct-teachers-strike-engages-nut-leaders\/","title":{"rendered":"Wike Moves to Resolve FCT Teachers\u2019 Strike, Engages NUT Leaders"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has intensified efforts to end the ongoing strike by the Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT), signaling readiness to address key demands and restore normal academic activities across the territory.<\/p>\n<p>At a meeting held on Thursday at his Life Camp residence in Abuja, Wike assured leaders of the FCT chapter of the union that their concerns would be addressed \u201cwithin reason,\u201d stressing the urgency of resolving the dispute due to its adverse impact on schoolchildren.<\/p>\n<p>The minister reiterated that the responsibility for the payment of primary school teachers\u2019 salaries and allowances lies with the six area councils, not the FCT Administration.
