Mohammed Hayatu-Deen<\/span><\/span>, a presidential aspirant on the platform of the African Democratic Congress<\/span><\/span> (ADC), has called for a united opposition front ahead of the 2027 general elections.<\/p>\n Hayatu-Deen spoke on Saturday on the sidelines of the national opposition summit held in Ibadan.<\/p>\n He said Nigeria\u2019s challenges require a coordinated response beyond the capacity of any single party or individual.<\/p>\n His words: \u201cNigeria is at a defining moment. The deepening insecurity, the crushing cost of living and the steady erosion of democratic space demand a collective response. This is not about personal ambition, it is about national rescue.\u201d<\/p>\n Hayatu-Deen said unity among opposition parties is no longer optional but necessary to present Nigerians with a credible alternative.<\/p>\n He warned that continued fragmentation within the opposition would entrench the status quo and worsen hardship.<\/p>\n He urged political leaders to move beyond rhetoric and demonstrate commitment to collaboration and shared purpose.<\/p>\n At the summit, Hayatu-Deen held consultations with Seyi Makinde<\/span><\/span>, governor of Oyo state, Atiku Abubakar<\/span><\/span>, Peter Obi<\/span><\/span>, and Rotimi Amaechi<\/span><\/span>.<\/p>\n He also engaged with the conveners of the summit, Jerry Gana<\/span><\/span> of the Peoples Democratic Party<\/span><\/span> (PDP) and Kashim Imam<\/span><\/span>.<\/p>\n Hayatu-Deen said the 2027 elections present an opportunity to reset Nigeria\u2019s trajectory if opposition leaders prioritise national interest over personal ambition.<\/p>\n \u201cNigerians are looking for leadership that is empathetic, unifying and capable of delivering real change.
