The Abia <\/a>State Police Command has dismissed reports alleging that the Abia <\/a>Governor reportedly opposed the transfer of Police officers from the state following the Force reorganization.\u201d<\/p>\n The report had claimed that Governor Alex <\/a>Otti directed the Commissioner of Police in the state not to release any officer pending further directives.<\/p>\n But reacting to the development, the State Police Command described the news as untrue and misleading, adding that it did not reflect the position of the Command.<\/p>\n A statement signed by DSP Maureen Chinaka, the spokesperson of the command, read,\u00a0\u201cAt no time did the Governor of Abia <\/a>State direct the Commissioner of Police to withhold the release of personnel transferred from the Abia <\/a>State Command to other formations.\u00a0<\/p>\n \u201cPolice personnel are intermittently released on transfer as may be directed by the Inspector-General of Police\u201d, the statement said\u00a0<\/p>\n
