Abba Anas Adamu Laushi, a governorship aspirant of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Jigawa state, has been killed by kidnappers after a ransom was reportedly paid for his release.<\/p>\n
Laushi was abducted along the Kaduna-Abuja highway last Friday while travelling to purchase his nomination form for the governorship election.<\/p>\n
The former lawmaker was said to have been kidnapped alongside another person after which the abductors demanded N75 million as ransom. The second victim reportedly escaped from captivity.<\/p>\n
However, Laushi was allegedly killed by the kidnappers after the ransom had been paid. His remains have been transported to Kano for burial.<\/p>\n
Laushi was a former member of the House of Representatives where he represented the Birniwa\/Guri\/Kirikasamma Federal Constituency of Jigawa state between 2007 and 2011.<\/p>\n
Before his death, he was seeking the governorship ticket of the ADC in Jigawa state.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
