The leader of the Hausa community in Aba,\u00a0 Sariki Bello Shehu\u00a0 II, has presented some challenges facing Hausa\u00a0 traders and\u00a0 other members of the community\u00a0 in Aba, to the Abia <\/a>State government.<\/p>\n \u00a0Sarki Shehu, who led a delegation of his people to the Abia <\/a>State Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs in\u00a0 Umuahia on\u00a0Wednesday, appealed to the State government to consider the development of a larger settlement along the Osioma axis to accommodate a mosque, market, schools and residential facilities.<\/p>\n According to him, the increasing number of worshipers often leads to traffic congestion during\u00a0Friday\u00a0prayers.<\/p>\n The Hausa leade,r who reaffirmed the support of his\u00a0 people to the Abia <\/a>State government, praised the intervention of Governor Alex <\/a>Otti and his Chief of Staff, Caleb Ajagba\u00a0 in a\u00a0 recent security incidents involving Hausa traders in the State.<\/p>\n He called for improved urban planning to address the conversion of residential buildings into commercial facilities, and the expansion of affordable metropolitan transportation services within Aba.<\/p>\n \u00a0 \u00a0Recieving the leader and members of the Hausa community in his office, Abia <\/a>State Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Uzor Nwachukwu commended them for their peaceful coexistence in the State.<\/p>\n \u00a0He reassured them that the administration of Governor Alex <\/a>Otti does not discriminate against tribes,\u00a0 \u00a0religion or social background, adding that every lawful resident would continue to enjoy protection, care and other welfare programs.<\/p>\n The Commissioner further said that the State government would always collaborate with stakeholders to sustain the peace, unity and overall development of the State.<\/p>\n\n
