The Management of Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike (MOUAU), has dismissed as false and unfounded reports circulating on social media alleging that suspected hoodlums are planning to invade the institution\u2019s campus.<\/strong><\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n In a press statement issued on behalf of the University Management, the Head of Public Relations and Protocol, Mr. Anyaso Anyaso, described the report as unverified and deliberately designed to create panic among students, parents, staff, and members of the public.<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n According to the statement, the University\u2019s security unit, in collaboration with relevant law enforcement agencies, has conducted thorough investigations and found no credible evidence to support the allegations.<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n \u201cThe claim is unfounded and designed to cause unnecessary fear among parents, students, staff, and the wider University community\u201d,\u00a0 the statement noted.<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n The management reassured stakeholders that the safety and welfare of students, staff, and visitors remain its highest priority, stressing that campus security personnel remain on alert and operational round the clock.<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n The University further disclosed that it maintains regular collaboration with the Nigeria Police Force and other security agencies to ensure the protection of lives and property within the institution.<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n As part of its routine risk management measures, management said additional patrols and precautionary steps have been put in place to further reassure members of the University community.<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n Students and staff were therefore urged to continue their academic and administrative activities without fear, as there is no security threat to the campus.<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n The institution also cautioned members of the public against spreading unverified information, noting that false reports can create unnecessary panic, undermine public confidence, and divert security resources from genuine concerns.<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n Management advised stakeholders to rely only on official communications from the University, including information disseminated through the Public Relations Unit, the University\u2019s website, and verified social media platforms.<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n The University, however, expressed appreciation to parents, students, staff, and the surrounding community for their continued cooperation and support, reiterating its commitment to maintaining a safe, secure, and peaceful
