Waidi Shaibu, on a courtesy visit at Government House, Port Harcourt.<\/p>\n<p>The governor commended the Army Chief for what he described as notable achievements in strengthening security operations and improving the welfare of military personnel within a short period in office.<\/p>\n<p>He also welcomed the choice of Rivers State as host of the 2026 Nigerian Army Day Celebration, saying the decision reflected growing confidence in the improved security situation and peaceful atmosphere in the state.<\/p>\n<p>Fubara assured the Army leadership of continued collaboration with military formations operating in Rivers State, stressing that the government would provide necessary assistance to enable officers and personnel effectively discharge their responsibilities.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe owe you our support and collaboration to ensure that your officers operating here succeed. Whatever is needed for them to succeed, as a government, we will support them,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>The governor also pledged the state government\u2019s full support for activities marking the Army Day Celebration, noting that the ongoing upgrading of facilities for the event was part of the government\u2019s responsibility as host.<\/p>\n<p>He praised the General Officer Commanding, the Commander of Bori Camp and other military personnel for their contributions to maintaining peace and protecting critical infrastructure across the state.<\/p>\n<p>Fubara further attributed the increase in Nigeria\u2019s crude oil production and revenue to sustained military operations against pipeline vandalism, illegal bunkering and crude oil theft in the Niger Delta.<\/p>\n<p>According to him, the success recorded in tackling oil-related crimes has contributed to increased production and improved revenue for the country.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier, the Chief of Army Staff, Lt.-Gen.
