Popular Fuji Singer, Saheed Osupa Admits Using ‘Juju’ For Success
Popular Fuji musician, Saheed Okunola, popularly known as Saheed Osupa, has openly stated that he engages in traditional spiritual practices, commonly referred to as juju or voodoo, to aid his success in life.
Abia Radio News reports that the Fuji star made the remark while performing at the 52nd birthday celebration of veteran Nollywood actor, Fatai Odua, popularly known as Lalude, held on March 30, 2026.
A video of the moment surfaced online on Wednesday, showing Osupa speaking humorously to his backup singers during the stage performance.
During the performance, Osupa was seen advising members of his backup team to adopt spiritual practices to improve their memory after noticing they were struggling to keep up with his lyrics.
The singer also mentioned items they could use, while clarifying that the practice does not necessarily make them fetish but could help their personal well-being.
Speaking further, Osupa revealed that he had once been advised to publicly deny engaging in supernatural practices but declined the suggestion.
“Somebody told me one time to grant an interview, denying that I’m a fetish person, but I told him that I am, and why should I deny it. I didn’t kill anyone with my juju or commit evil with it. I am only looking for how to progress. Nothing more,” he said.
The musician also disclosed that he regularly pays homage to Ifa, a traditional Yoruba spiritual system, as part of his personal practices.
“That’s why anytime I wake, I always pay obeisance to my Ifa. I don’t know the deity beyond it, because it is worth paying homage to,” he said.
He added humorously, “If I don’t engage in voodoo, what else should I have employed? Is it Phensic or Panadol that will make me successful?”
Osupa further argued that many people engage in similar practices, though some do so privately.
“Everybody practises voodoo. While some hide behind the scenes to do theirs, I do mine in the open. All those talks that I rely solely on the Bible and the Quran are pure lies,” he said.
