Gov Otti States Resolve to Reconstruct Afor Ule Market Aba

ABIA – Governor Alex Otti has stated the resolve of his administration to reconstruct the Afor Ule market Aba in addition to the ongoing reconstruction of the Afo-Ule road.
Governor Otti who announced this while on an inspection visit to the market as part of his inspection visit to some ongoing road projects in Aba, said the reconstruction of the market which is expected to be completed within one year would be done in phases to enable traders continue their trading activities while the reconstruction is on.
He said that the reconstruction of the market will enable each trader to have a comfortable place to trade, adding that the Afo Ule road which is under reconstruction will on completion give residents and other road users a sense of belonging.
He frowned at the conversion of part of the road for trading activities, warning that the government will no longer tolerate trading activities on the major roads.
Governor Otti who also visited Obohia road under construction, expressed the readiness of the state government to address the perennial flooding challenges around the Obohia Road area.
He said that the reconstruction of the road would include the construction of a drainage channel to redirect storm water from the area to the Aba River instead of the borrow pit located in the area.
He thanked residents for their continued support for the state government’s programmes and policies and also urged residents to participate in the ongoing Continuous Voter Registration exercise by the Independent National Electoral Commission in order to obtain their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs).
Governor Otti equally inspected some ongoing road projects in Aba including Umuchichi Road Off Okpulo Umobo, Nigerian Breweries Road,Eche Road and Borrow pit by Obohia road.
