A member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), George Agbakahi, has stated that the Igbo will support the re-election of President Bola Tinubu in 2027.

Abia Radio News reports that Agbakahi, Southeast Leader of the Tinubu Support Organisation, made the declaration on Monday during an interview on Arise Television.

Agbakahi said Igbos have learnt their lessons regarding issues that happened during the 2023 election, and they want to be in the mainstream of Nigeria’s politics.

According to him, President Tinubu has done a lot to improve the well-being of Nigerians, especially in the South-East.

While expressing optimism that Tinubu would win the 2027 election, Agbakahi noted that many APC leaders and top politicians have endorsed the President.

He maintained that the Igbos want to unite and vote for Tinubu overwhelmingly, adding that politics is highly dynamic and that there are many factors they must consider in 2027.

He said, “Igbos want to be in the mainstream politics of Nigeria. Southeast APC leadership and the people in the periphery have endorsed President of this great country for a second tenure, and we have no doubt that he will win this election.

“There are certain issues that occurred in the 2023 elections and we have learned from them. The issue of lack of unity among the APC members in the southeast.”
