Anyaso: Labour Party Convention Will Reposition Party for 2027, Urges Unity

A chieftain of the Labour Party, Dr. Chimaobi Desmond Anyaso, has expressed optimism that the party’s just-concluded National Convention will reposition it for greater success ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Speaking with journalists at the International Conference Centre, Umuahia, venue of the convention, Anyaso described the gathering as a critical turning point for the party, providing an opportunity for internal consolidation, renewed leadership direction, and strengthened grassroots mobilization.

He emphasized that the convention should not be seen as a routine exercise but as a defining moment for the Labour Party to rebuild trust, deepen internal democracy, and present itself as a credible vehicle for national transformation.

According to him, unity among party leaders and members remains essential for electoral success, urging stakeholders at all levels to set aside personal interests and work collectively toward a common goal.

“The National Convention offers us the chance to reposition the party. If we emerge more united, organized, and focused, we will be better placed to meet the expectations of Nigerians and achieve victory in 2027,” he said.

Anyaso noted that Nigerians are increasingly looking to the Labour Party as a viable alternative, stressing the need for competence, inclusiveness, and transparency in leadership and decision-making processes.

He further called on party faithful to remain committed to democratic principles, adding that cohesion within the party would strengthen its chances in future elections.

Reaffirming his dedication to the ideals of the Labour Party, Anyaso encouraged youths, women, and grassroots supporters to remain actively involved in party activities, noting that their participation would play a crucial role in shaping the party’s future.
