ADC A Recycled Coalition, Can’t Challenge Us – APC Declares In Sokoto

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Sokoto State has described the African Democratic Congress (ADC) as a recycled political coalition lacking the capacity to challenge the ruling party’s dominance in the state.

The party insisted that regardless of the platform under which the ADC operates, it would fail to wrest power from the APC in future elections, predicting a landslide defeat for the opposition.

Abia Radio News reports that the Sokoto APC Chairman, Isah Sadik Achida, stated this on Thursday during an all-inclusive stakeholders’ meeting of party stalwarts and members held in Tambuwal Local Government Area.

The meeting was organised by the Ahmed Aliyu Sokoto Youths Contact, Mobilisation and Enlightenment Ambassadors as part of efforts to strengthen the APC’s Renewed Hope Agenda ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Achida said individuals regrouping under the ADC were well-known political actors who had previously failed to deliver meaningful results for the people of Sokoto State, describing them as figures who had exhausted their political relevance.

According to him, the APC remains united and firmly positioned to retain power in the state, stressing that no rebranded opposition alliance could undermine the party’s growing support base.

“We all know them. They failed to deliver after 8 years.

“They have nothing new to present but rather than to further destroy the state,” he said.

He added, “I leave the space for Sokoto people to judge with every honesty,” noting that Governor Ahmed Aliyu Sokoto had, for the first time in the political history of the state, surpassed the achievements of his predecessor, Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, even in his home local government.

Achida credited the current administration with prioritising infrastructure and basic services, attributing the achievements to the leadership direction of Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko.

“The current APC governor has done a lot to the local government with visionary leadership of its leader, Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko, in the provision of infrastructure and other basic facilities for the benefit of the people.

“He gave them the required priority in terms of appointments and governance,” he said.

The chairman urged party members and stakeholders to remain steadfast and united, stressing that the APC understood how best to manage its structure and sustain its resilience ahead of future contests.

A party stalwart and Chief of Staff to the Governor, Aminu Dikko Tambuwal, who spoke on behalf of Alhaji Umaru Nagwari Tambuwal, said the town had witnessed significant development across various sectors since the inception of the current APC administration.

He commended the party’s youth and women wings for their dedication, describing their commitment to unity and perseverance as critical to the APC’s success in the area.

Tambuwal also highlighted the leadership style of Senator Wamakko, describing him as a unifying force and key political pillar whose strategic guidance produced a resilient governor in Ahmed Aliyu Sokoto.

“We are proud of the quality of governance in Sokoto State today. The people of Tambuwal Local Government have every reason to appreciate the governor for identifying with us in several areas of development and governance.

“This marks a clear departure from what we experienced under someone we regarded as our own, who completed his tenure without tangible impact,” he said.

He further cited several empowerment and development initiatives which, according to him, had enabled many residents to become self-reliant through various trades.
