ADC Raises Alarm Over Murder Of Its Members

The African Democratic Congress (ADC), Imo State Chapter, has raised an alarm over the tragic killing of its members.

Speaking via a statement by its Publicity Secretary, Macdonald Amadi, the party expressed sorrow over the gruesome murder of its woman leader of Amosu Umulolo Ward, Esther Chimezie Ijeoma, and Ambrose Ndukwe, both of indigenes of Okigwe Local Government Area.

They were shot and killed on Friday, 30th January, 2026.

The party said the heartbreaking incident represented yet another painful reminder of the persistent security challenges confronting Imo State.

Amadi said, “The loss of innocent lives, regardless of political affiliation or background, strikes at the very heart of our shared humanity and calls for sober reflection by all stakeholders.”

The party stated that the ADC believes that the foremost responsibility of any government is the protection of lives and property, adding that “when citizens continue to fall victim to violent attacks, it raises serious concerns about the effectiveness, responsiveness, and prioritisation of public safety measures.”

ADC demanded proactive leadership, clear strategies, and unwavering commitment.

“In the interest of justice, peace, and public confidence, the ADC respectfully calls for the following actions: comprehensive, transparent investigation into the killings, with findings communicated to the public within a reasonable timeframe,” it demanded.

The party demanded the swift identification and prosecution of the perpetrators, in line with the rule of law, to serve justice and discourage future violence.
