Adeleke Reacts As Davido Misses Out At 2026 Grammy Awards
Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has sent words of encouragement to his nephew, Davido, after losing out at the 2026 Grammy Awards.
Abia Radio News reports that the Nigerian music superstar, born David Adeleke, has maintained a positive outlook despite losing at the Grammys.
The award-winning singer took to his 𝕏 handle on Monday to express gratitude and faith despite the setback, sharing pictures from the award ceremony.
“Oluwa Dey my side,” Davido wrote in pidgin English, a phrase which translates to “God is on my side.”
Reacting to the post, Governor Adeleke, who has consistently shown support for his nephew’s musical journey, offered words of encouragement.
“Proud of you always @davido,” the Osun State Governor wrote.
The message drew an affectionate response from the singer, who replied, “Love u Excellency!!! We move ACCORDINGLY SIR.”
Abia Radio News reports that Davido was nominated in the Best African Music Performance category for his collaboration, With You, Davido featuring Omah Lay.
However, the award went to South African singer, Tyla, who secured her second win in the category after previously clinching the award with her hit song, Water, when the category was first introduced.
Despite missing out on the prestigious award, the DMW boss remained upbeat, leaning on his faith and the support of family, fans and colleagues in the music industry.
