Renowned industrialist, philanthropist, and political leader Chief Dr. David Ogba Onuoha Bourdex MFR, OON (popularly known as Ugo’Ena Abiriba) has showered glowing commendations on the Abia State Governor, Dr. Alex Chioma Otti, OFR, describing the ongoing transformation in the state as nothing short of a quiet revolution.

In a powerful message titled “The Revolution Taking Place in Abia State”, Chief Bourdex recalled the dark years when Abia’s infrastructure was in ruins, salaries were unpaid, and the dreams of its people seemed buried under the weight of failed leadership.

According to him, there was a time not long ago when Abia’s roads were wounds that never healed, its cities “wore rags instead of glory,” and the worth of its people was mocked by leaders who failed to see their value.

“We were a people rich in spirit but robbed of vision. A state of merchants and makers, yet treated as beggars in our own markets,” Bourdex lamented.

He, however, noted that Governor Otti’s emergence signaled a turning point.

Visible Transformation in Just One Year

Bourdex praised Otti for choosing service over the arrogance of power, stressing that in just one year, visible changes have swept across Abia:

Roads once abandoned are now motorable and smooth.

Salaries and pensions, long withheld, are now paid promptly.

Aba and Umuahia have regained their commercial vibrancy.

Ambitious plans for industrial parks, clean cities, and reliable power supply have moved from talk to tangible action.

Describing Otti’s leadership as “a revolution not of noise, but of visible works”, Chief Bourdex said this administration has restored dignity to traders, pride to civil servants, and rekindled the belief that good governance is possible in Abia.

“Governor Otti, your name is being written not just in government records but in the hearts of your people. History is watching — and smiling,” Bourdex declared.

A Call for Continuity

Bourdex prayed that the current transformation will deepen, endure, and set a standard for future leaders. He urged Abians to rally behind the governor to ensure that the vision for a prosperous, dignified, and industrialized Abia is fully realized.

Abia is rising, and the world will soon know her again as the land of makers, the home of giants, and the light of the East,” he concluded.
