Kwankwaso Not Hospitalised Abroad, Aides Reveal Why He Travelled
The Kwankwasiyya Movement has dismissed reports claiming that the National Leader of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, travelled abroad for medical attention.
The denial followed widespread speculation on social media suggesting that the former Kano State governor left the country on health grounds.
Speaking on the matter, the spokesperson of the Kwankwasiyya Movement, Mansur Kurugu, said Kwankwaso travelled outside Nigeria on Thursday for personal reasons.
“Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso departs Nigeria for personal reasons. It is not for medical tourism or any health-related reason,” Kurugu said.
Also reacting, a media aide to Kwankwaso, Saifullahi Hassan, described the report as the handiwork of political detractors.
In a Facebook post, Hassan dismissed the claims, insisting they were deliberately circulated to mislead the public.
Hassan further noted that Kwankwaso was publicly active in Kano shortly before leaving the country.
According to him, the NNPP national leader was at Singer Market in Kano on Thursday morning, where he commiserated with traders affected by a recent fire outbreak that destroyed shops and goods worth millions of naira.
