NUJ FCT Boss Ike Receives 2026 Humanitarian Service Award
The Chairman, Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), FCT Council, Comrade Grace Ike, has been honoured with the 2026 Humanitarian and Service Award by the Laity Council of All Saints Catholic Church in recognition of her outstanding humanitarian contributions and dedication to the journalism profession.
The award was presented during a colourful ceremony held at the church premises, attended by members of the congregation and distinguished guests who gathered to celebrate her impactful service to humanity and professional excellence.
Speaking after receiving news of the honour, Ike expressed gratitude to God and dedicated the award to the Almighty as well as members of the NUJ FCT Council.
She also thanked the organisers for considering her worthy of the recognition despite her absence at the event, describing the award as a motivation to do more in service to society.
“This recognition is not merely an award but a call to greater service. I remain committed to promoting responsible journalism and advancing humanitarian causes with humility, diligence and dedication through the grace of God,” she said.
According to her, the honour will further inspire her to continue championing initiatives that uplift lives while upholding the ethics and ideals of the journalism profession.
The award adds to a growing list of recognitions bestowed on the NUJ FCT Chairman for her exemplary leadership, professional achievements and commitment to humanitarian service.
The physical award was received on her behalf by the Auditor of the NUJ FCT Council, Comrade Rosemary Ukoko-Tega.
