Nigerian veteran musician Baba Fryo has berated Afrobeat superstar Wizkid over his claim that he is bigger than the late Fela Kuti.

Abia Radio News reports that Wizkid and Fela’s son, Seun Kuti, have been involved in an online feud.

The controversy between the duo began when Seun chastised Wizkid’s fans for comparing the contemporary artist to his father, calling it “an insult to Fela’s legacy” and urging them to stop dragging Fela’s name into fan debates.

Wizkid later fired back on his Instagram story, claiming he was “bigger than Fela” and mocking Seun Kuti, escalating tensions further.

Pu**y boy @thenigbirdkuti ok I big pass your papa!!! Wetin u one do? Fool at 40!.

“@bigbirdkuti I’m Big Wiz, everyday bigger than your papa!! Wetin u one do, fool?”

Hungry bastard,” he wrote

Reacting to the feud, Baba Fryo expressed his dismay on social media

He wrote, “I just dey shame for this Gen Z. How can these kids compare a kid to an elder? Fela was a great musician, a multi-instrumentalist, a revolutionist.

“He wasn’t just an artiste but a full-time musician, and he remained relevant for over 30 years until the day he died.”

He added a cultural comparison, saying: “A Jamaican artiste would never do such to Bob Marley. I dey shame for this youth. Call Gen Zero sense. Mtcheew.”
