Zamfara PDP Chairman Accuses Defected Party Leader Of Sabotage

The Chairman of Kaura-Namoda Local Government Area in Zamfara State, Alhaji Munnir Haidara, has alleged that the former Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the area, Sadiq Chiroma, had been undermining the party long before he officially defected to the All Progressives Congress.

Haidara made the claim in a statement issued on Sunday following Chiroma’s defection.

According to Haidara, Chiroma’s actions before and after the last state assembly bye-election raised serious concerns about his loyalty.

He alleged that the former PDP chairman was “frequently seen secretly interacting with APC stakeholders in the state,” describing such engagements as clear violations of the PDP constitution.

Haidara further claimed Chiroma leaked confidential party strategies and worked openly against the party’s chances of victory during the bye-election.

The Kaura-Namoda chairman also linked the recent defection of the PDP’s former state assembly candidate, Mohammed Lawal Kurya Madaro, to Chiroma’s alleged influence.

He insisted that the party was fully aware of Chiroma’s “anti-party activities” long before his exit.

Haidara said the PDP in Kaura-Namoda remains appreciative of Governor Dauda Lawal’s “people-oriented projects” in the area and urged residents to continue supporting ongoing development initiatives.

He wished Chiroma well in his new party but warned that he would “reap what he sowed” following his defection to the APC.
