Bende Women Declare Support for Anyaso Ahead of 2027 Abia Reps Race

Women across Bende Local Government Area have intensified grassroots support for Dr. Chimaobi Desmond Anyaso ahead of the 2027 general elections, as his family hosted a strategic meeting of women leaders and stakeholders from the Bende Federal Constituency.

The gathering, hosted by Dr. Anyaso’s elder sister, Barr. Dr. Ngozi Ekeoma, alongside his wife, Dr. Adanna Anyaso, focused on strengthening unity and mobilizing women across the constituency toward the 2027 political season.

Speaking at the event, the Wife of the Mayor of Bende LGA, Mrs. Geraldine Uwabunkonye Bassy, urged women to remain united and rally behind Dr. Anyaso, whom she described as a visionary and compassionate leader capable of attracting meaningful development and quality representation to Bende Federal Constituency.

Also speaking, the Labour Party Women Leader in Bende LGA, Mrs. Grace Ogbonna, stressed the critical role women play in determining electoral outcomes and called for sustained grassroots mobilization in support of Dr. Anyaso’s aspiration for the House of Representatives seat.

In her keynote address, the Deputy Mayor of Bende LGA, Chief Mrs. Ngozi Anya, stated that the 2027 elections present an opportunity for Bende North (Umunna) to produce the next representative for the constituency. She noted that Dr. Anyaso continues to enjoy growing acceptance across the area.

Several women leaders at the meeting, including Mrs. Nkechinyere Gift Dick, Mrs. Okorie Stella Ezinne, Mrs. Cordelia Chukwu, and Mrs. Arisa Okparigbo, reaffirmed their support for Dr. Anyaso’s ambition and also endorsed Governor Alex Otti for a second term in office in 2027.

Responding, Dr. Anyaso thanked the women and organizers for their solidarity and confidence in his leadership, assuring them of inclusive representation, empowerment initiatives, and people-oriented legislation if elected into office.

Highlights of the event included prayers for Dr. Anyaso, distribution of bags of rice and wrappers, as well as cash support amounting to ₦5 million to women across the constituency.

Among dignitaries present were the Chairman, Board of Trustees of the Chima Anyaso Foundation, Ezeogo Emeka Onuoha; former Chairman of Bende LGA, Pastor Okechukwu Dike; and other political stakeholders.

The event further underscored the growing grassroots momentum behind Dr. Anyaso’s political aspiration ahead of the 2027 elections.
